Press CANADIAN MUSIC NEWS - January, 2006 Newcomer Anados, cut her musical teeth in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, and lists Celine Dion, Anne Murray and Cher as her musical influences. Now working out of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Anados takes on a bit of a country feel with her music, debuting on disc with this 12 song collection of all original tunes. She also produces the session. The music here cuts a fairly wide path - with everything from Pop/Country to Rockabilly flavored material. Three songs have already been pulled as singles, with '57 Chevy, These Three Words and Turn It Up, achieving national airplay. Anados performs the songs with tons of energy, and although there's a strong hint of "Shania" throughout the album, she avoids a direct comparison, thanks largely to her own songwriting which bears a more personal identity. Some of the other tunes that bear watching, and listening, include It's No Chicken Feed, You Should Know, You're So Cool, and I'm Hangin' On Tight. The album was recorded in Nashville studios. Session players are relatively unknown, but capable in delivering the goods. |
